“Just Being Audrey”

So, there is a new children’s book out (as of yesterday) about Audrey Hepburn…you can read the news story here. I don’t know about you, but I am more than thrilled – check out the screen shot below for a sneak peek (courtesy of harpercollinscatalogs.com)…doesn’t it just make you all giddy inside?! I have always been a huge fan of Audrey Hepburn, for so many reasons – not only is she the epitome of elegance and poise, she was a great actress, an amazing woman, and an exemplary humanitarian – she defined being a “lady.”

I love that the author was motivated to give children a story that reflects the life of a good and positive role model. Today, good role models are few and far between, especially for girls – they are surrounded by so much plastic and superficiality from such a young age, that this book is a breath of fresh air. Kudos to the author, Margaret Cardillo, for putting her love for Audrey Hepburn into a great little children’s book that we all can enjoy. I will be picking up my copy of Just Being Audrey – and will probably enjoy it as much or more than my girls!
